Sienna Sliding Door Stuck

We have an 05 sienna and like everyone every winter the side sliding doors freeze.

When your sienna side door won t close one possibility is a circuit overload. If you push the open button inside the car or on the fob you can hear the motor try to open but the door doesn t budge and the motor stops after a second. I broke the handle off last winter and got the opportunity to figure out how to replace it which wasn t all that difficult and sure enough today it s 6f outside and the door is stuck. If you pull the handle on the inside or outside it doesn t open the door it behaves just like it is locked.

Last night i sprayed everything with silicone spray with no luck. The door is supposed to unlatch first before it triggers the motor to pull it open. At first the door won t work properly. This happens when the power sliding door isn t able to latch on properly due to something blocking it.

The electric motor s circuit will become overloaded and this will trip the fuse and prevent the door from being closed entirely. The sliding door latch is not working see the picture of the latch unit. Frayed cable the cable in the side door is prone to fraying and then breaking. Latch motor failure sometimes the side door will struggle to open when you press the button to automatically open it.
